What I Want

It’s Wishcasting Wednesday over at Jamie Ridler Studios. This week she’s asking, “What do you wish to ask for?”

I must admit, what I want is pretty simple, ridiculously traditional, and not entirely necessary. But I’d absolutely adore having a white picket fence. And while I’m asking, how about a deck, too.

My home is blessed with a nice-enough yard (Landscapers, shush please. Weedy and a little overgrown is OK by us!), but we have no fence. And the previous owner had a handicap accessible ramp on the back of the house. With a little carpentry creativity, I can see how we’d turn it into a small deck.

I have this clear, sweet vision of my children playing kickball in the front yard and the family dog playfully running interference. Mind you, we have neither kickball nor dog, but we would–if we only had a fence!

In the backyard, we’d have our grill on our cozy deck that leads to a little space where we have an outdoor dining table. Right now, that grill is under cover in the garage, probably home to a few spiders. And the outdoor table mostly collects fallen twigs.

It’s also important to say that this wish –since I’m wishing away about material things– should carry no financial or scheduling burden whatsoever! I come by this fence and deck with ease, prosperity, deep joy, and great gratitude! (That’s not laying it on too thick, is it? :-) )

Who knows? Maybe I’ll soon be sharing my DIY deck-building experience. Or better yet, just the story of someone else’s deck-building experience (and fencing project) here at my home sweet home!

That’s what I’m wishing for. How about you?

More about Wishcasting Wednesdays: Creative spirit Jamie Ridler, of Jamie Ridler Studios, has claimed the middle of the week as Wishcasting Wednesday: “Wishcasting Wednesday is a safe haven for wishes, a fertile field in which to plant wish seeds and have them witnessed and tended lovingly. It’s a place where magic begins … Make a wish: Dare to dream. What would happen if every week you made a wish? What magic might start to stir?”
