Twinkies, Ding Dongs, mini cans of Coca-Cola, Cheetos, individually wrapped slices of American cheese—it’s fair to say that my childhood experience with packing my own lunch was far from nourishing. In fact, I might even say I’ve got a little lunchbox PTSD. It reared its head a few months ago when my daughter started asking to take her lunch to preschool, even though meals are provided.
